Placement rules

• Ads never appear before the main useful content on a page.
• Ad placements reserve their exact final size, so nothing shifts once a slot loads.
• No pop-ups, forced interstitials, or auto-playing audio/video ads.
• Ad slots load only after advertising consent is granted.

Score independence

Advertising never influences Data Confidence, Name Characteristics, popularity data, meanings, origins or any ranked list. Commercial configuration (src/lib/monetisation/*) is architecturally separate from editorial content (src/data/seed/*, src/lib/domain/*) — see methodology.

Status in this release

No live ad network is connected. Every ad slot on the site renders a clearly labelled development placeholder outside production, proving the real reserved layout position, and collapses to nothing in production until a network is wired in.
